Outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation allows individuals to benefit and use some of the services of a rehab center without having to live on site. They can visit and then go home. Individuals will often attend counseling sessions, one-on-one and/or group if they are involved in outpatient drug rehabilitation. The programs are often not as intensive and a person is free to come and go as they please.
People who enroll in these types programs may be in the beginning of addiction and reach out to get help before they become severely addicted or after they have been through an inpatient stint. Others addicts may simply not be able to afford a high-priced, inpatient stay and because of a lack of options choose this route.
